Vincent is a graduating Computer Science and Mathematics major, whose future goals include pursuing a career in software development. In fall 2005, he led a six-person semester-long project in CPS 410 (“Software Engineering”) that allowed professors to create, and students to submit, assignments via the web. Not only does Vincent exhibit good interpersonal and leadership skills, but he is also self-motivated and able to synthesize and apply new knowledge. He readily adopted the concepts of software architecture and design patterns, and successfully applied them not only to the CPS 410 project, but also to his personal project “Cog” on sourceforge.net. We are pleased to present Vincent Spader with the Karolak Software Engineering Scholarship.
Jesse is a graduating Computer Science major, whose future goals include pursuing a career in software development. In fall 2005, he was assigned to a five-person semester-long group project in CPS 410 (“Software Engineering”) that allowed professors to create, and students to submit, assignments via the web. In CPS 410 and other classes, Jesse has demonstrated a good work ethic combined with strong organizational skills and pride in a job well done. He brought all of these qualities to his leadership of the group project. To quote some of his team members: “Jesse leads by example.” For his dedication and overall professionalism, it is our pleasure to present Jesse Earley with the Software Engineering Leadership Award.
